What The Acronym Society is

The Acronym Society is a community built exclusively for neurodivergent people to connect and share our experiences with one another. It is a place to be your whole self without fear of judgment, with neurodivergent-specific resources, courses, events, and challenges, alongside everything else inside the Superhero Institute.

Membership is free and it is open right now.

Why we call it The Acronym Society

The name comes from the acronyms. ADHD. ASD. AuDHD. OCD. PTSD. The letters that show up in a diagnosis, a school file, an HR conversation, an argument with someone who read one article.

We are bound by those acronyms. We are not defined by them.

That distinction is the whole idea. The letters describe something real about how we're wired, and plenty of us needed them to finally make sense of ourselves. They also get used as a ceiling, an explanation for why someone should expect less. We keep the letters and refuse the ceiling.

Why a space that's just for us is so important

In most rooms, the work starts before the work starts. You explain the sensory thing. Then the memory thing. Then why you went quiet for ten minutes, and whether that meant anything. By the time the explaining is done, the energy you brought for the actual conversation is gone.

Here, that overhead disappears. Everyone in the room is neurodivergent, so the baseline assumptions already fit. Nobody needs the preamble. You get to spend your energy on your life and your work.

So what does that actually change? Mostly it changes what you can say out loud. The thing you were going to phrase carefully, you can just say. The accommodation you were going to apologize for, you can just take.

What's inside

Resources

Resources built for neurodivergent brains, including systems that account for variable energy, working memory, and sensory needs.

Courses & Challenges

Courses and challenges you can start when your capacity allows.

Events

Events with clear structure and no surprise participation.

Community

Conversation with people who understand the context without being briefed on it.

Membership also opens the rest of the Superhero Institute: the wider community, the Superhuman Framework, and The Superhero Code.

How access works

Membership is for neurodivergent people, self-identified. A formal diagnosis is not a requirement, and nobody is asked to prove anything. Late-identified and self-identified members belong here on the same terms as everyone else.

Moderation is active, and the standard is simple: everyone here gets to exist without being turned into a lesson.

This is a peer community. Nothing here is therapy, treatment, or medical advice.

Who it's for

Autistic people. ADHD people. AuDHD people. Anyone whose wiring sits outside the neurotypical default and who is tired of being handed systems built for someone else's brain.

You do not need to arrive with a plan, a diagnosis, or a productivity system you're proud of. You need a room where the starting assumptions already fit.

Where to go next

Joining The Acronym Society makes you a member of the Superhero Institute, so everything else is already open to you: the wider community, the framework, the events, and the newsletter. Take the parts that serve you and leave the rest. A quiet season costs you nothing here.

Questions people ask

Do I need a formal diagnosis?

No. Self-identification is enough. Diagnosis is expensive, slow, and unevenly available, and none of that changes how you're wired.

Is this a support group?

It is a peer community, built around connection, shared experience, and practical systems. It does not provide clinical or therapeutic support.

Is it really free?

Yes. Membership is free and permanent, with no credit card and no trial period.

What if I mostly want to lurk?

Lurking is welcome. Plenty of members read for months before they post, and there's no penalty for a quiet season.

Are events required?

No. Everything is optional and, wherever possible, recorded.

Can I bring my whole self even on a bad day?

That's the point of the room. Bad days, shutdowns, and half-finished sentences are all normal here.

How is this different from the rest of the Superhero Institute?

The wider community is open to everyone. The Acronym Society is neurodivergent-only, and that changes what the room feels like.
